If you’re looking for homes in Snowmass, Colorado you probably already know that it lies at 8209 feet above sea level.

Snowmass, Colorado yes, is part of Aspen– but for the purposes of analyzing housing, it has a different dynamic than the Aspen Core.

There are also two Snowmasses.  One is called Snowmass Village and it has the slopeside condos, rec center, outdoor mall, and lifts onto powder runs.

Snowmass Village is for people who want to live nearer to the many amenities provided for skiiers and snowboarders. 

Snowmass Village is reached either by way of Brush Creek Road or Owl Creek Road.  There are large slopeside homes and condo complexes. There are also non slopeside condominium complexes.  Finally, there are new townhouses being built in lower Snowmass. 

There’s Anderson Arts Ranch, a chapel, a bank, a grocery and a liquor store.  At the outdoor mall, you can find restaurants open during ski season.  

The town boasts an outdoor ice skating rink, and one of the hotels has a huge indoor climbing wall. 

There are a number of new restaurants under construction.

Its about 15 minutes in a car into Aspen.  Its also possible to move around from condo to the mountain or the Aspen core on the bus system.  This system can be used visit Basalt, and Glenwood Springs as well.

The price range is from $179,000 for 461 square feet to the cheapest single family home at 2,376,000.  In between you have varying homes in buildings slopeside at all price points, with non slopeside condos being cheaper.  If you want to be near Snowmass but are a full time resident, consider one of the new builds lower down the mountain, because the drive to Hwy 82 will be shorter.
