Some of the homes are in the central area on the north side of I-70. This is Parachute.
The south side of I-70 is largely the community of Battlement Mesa.
This is largely a commuter community however it does have a main street. The real estate for sale in and around Parachute includes duplexes, townhomes, condos, single family homes, lots and ranches.
The Colorado river runs through it.
This area is called the Grand Valley. The public school district is called Garfield RE-16. Check out the high school here.
Notable attractions in the area is the Wild Horse Conservation area to the northwest, or Powderhorn ski resort on the Grand Mesa to the south.
If you sometimes want to be in Grand Junction, but sometimes want to be in the Roaring Fork Valley, Parachute is a good in between.
