If you want to relocate to the Roaring Fork Valley, but you’re not sure about Aspen/Snowmass, consider Basalt.  On the west side of Highway 82, you’ll find small farms and ranches.  The development called Willits town center is also here.  If you want an urban feel, you can find it with a loft above shops.  If you need a Whole Foods, you’ll need Basalt, because the only one in the Valley is here.

You can buy a new build, or a new townhome in Basalt.

There are homes along the Roaring Fork on the east side of Highway 82.

I never tire of driving up the Frying Pan road to Ruedi Reservoir.  You can find some incredible vacation homes if you’re a fly fisherman, sailor, boater, camper or nature lover.

You’re not far from Aspen, not far from Carbondale. Basalt has a public elementary school a Middle School, and  a high school.

There’s a new mountain bike terrain park.

I can spend an afternoon shopping for clothes, dining out and taking pictures of the river, all along Midland Ave., which retains its Victorian mountain town look.
