Aspen, Colorado sits at 7,908 feet above sea level, and the year-round population is about the same number. Nestled into the Western Rockies of Colorado, Aspen was first settled by silver miners.
Over the decades it was discovered by each generation, developing its ski mountains and cultural events. Aspen inspires each person who visits it to leave his or her mark in the atmosphere… doubling and tripling the sense of fun and excitement in the air.
Aspen gradually became a center for arts and sophisticated dining, complimenting the snow sport offerings to make it a recreational paradise for all ages and athletic levels.
The mountains making up the ski experience, Aspen Mtn, Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk each have their own character, and the development of Aspen is just as architecturally diverse.
In Aspen, it’s impossible to not live by the seasons. Each season has its spectacular charm. During the fall colors, yellow aspens sparkle in the midst of evergreens.
Waking up in the winter to a possible powder day, walking the cobblestones under the street lights.
During the famous springtime in the Rockies, the snow glistens sliding into the rivers, dawn breaks earlier, and birdsong breaks the silence.
Summertime is for hikes and camping, with the elevation the best escape from heat.

Aspen, Colorado is the zenith of ski towns. If you love to ski and hike, this town is for you. Road bike racers and other professional athletes love it here, because they can train in the high altitude. Just walking around is fun. The food and wine festival in the summer, the music school, the outdoor art installations are all just parts of the culture Aspen offers.
Aspen Public Schools and Aspen Country Day School are some of the choices for education.
